Straight answers about how Leased works.
Leased
Your questions, answered
Is Leased a real estate brokerage?
No. Leased is an informational podcast and content hub about leasing and renting — we don't broker, manage or list rental properties ourselves.
Can I find an agent or leasing company through this site?
A directory of leasing professionals is planned but not yet active — for now, Leased is informational content only, with a free listing available to leasing professionals who want to be ready when it launches.
How do I negotiate rent?
Common tactics include asking at renewal rather than move-in, offering a longer lease term, pointing to comparable listings nearby, and asking about move-in specials — results vary by market and landlord, and we never promise a specific outcome.
What should be in a lease agreement?
A lease typically covers rent amount and due date, the term, deposit terms, who's responsible for repairs and utilities, and rules on subletting or guests — always read the full agreement, since terms vary by landlord and state.
Do I need renters insurance?
Many landlords require it, and it generally protects your belongings and provides liability coverage — confirm your specific landlord's requirement and a policy's coverage directly with an insurer.
Is this legal advice?
No. Landlord-tenant law, security deposit rules and lease disclosure requirements vary by city, county and state and change over time — confirm your rights with a local tenant resource or attorney.
